Up to $750 for customers of Peoples Gas for installation of attic insulation, a storage water heater or high efficiency gas furnace or gas boiler between July 1 2010 and May 31, 2011. And up to $350 for North Shore Gas customers with installations of a high efficiency gas furnace or boiler between April 16, 2010 and May 31, 2011.
Up to $400 for Nicor gas customers with installations of a storage water heater, high efficiency furnace or boiler between May 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011.
If you purchase an energy-efficient product or renewable energy system for your home, you may be eligible for a federal tax credit. ENERGY STAR distinguishes energy efficient products which, although they may cost more to purchase than standard models, will pay you back in lower energy bills within a reasonable amount of time, without a tax credit.
Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) offers residential customers incentives for certain energy efficiency upgrades and improvements including in-store discounts on lighting and compact fluorescent bulbs; $35 refrigerator and freezer recycling; and bill credits for A/C cycling.
